Welcome to Mitchell's Crib!!!!

Big Bad Dad here...

While browsing at one of Leigh's Parenting magazines (don't ask), I came across an article about keeping long distance family and friends in the loop on the growth and development of new babies. Amongst those suggestions was creating a blog. So, lest any of you think that this was a geeky, original thought by me, it wasn't. It came from a respectable (?) parenting magazine.

This is where you will find out all sorts of neat stuff about young Mitchell Cain Talley and that merry band of misfits he calls his family. Maybe there will even be a picture or two.

The chief authors of this blog will me and his Mommy. Kamryn may even provide her input occasionally. Mitchell, by virtue of still being in-utero and unable to speak for at least the 18 months immediately following his birth, will be communicating through his Daddy. I will do my best to only communicate his thoughts without injecting any opinions of my own.

(For those of you who are laughing at that last line, please stop.)

As of today, we're still three weeks out (to the day!) but Mitchell never fails to remind us all of his presence. He's a very active child whose sleep patterns don't necessarily mesh with those of his mother...much to her chagrin. He's easily excited by his sister laying on top of him, the sound of his Daddy's voice and "Tommy the Cat" by Primus. Each of these things, as well as some others, send him into such fits of absolute pleasure that I keep expecting him to pop out of his Mommy's torso like that little creature from "Alien"...only a lot cuter and with a better attitude (I hope).

Stay tuned. Add this blog to your "Favorites". Show the love by leaving comments. Send money. Sometime within the next 3 weeks or so, Mitchell will be making his big debut!

While Mitchell's mom is beautiful, his dad is still a dork. I hope the boy takes after his mother

Reagan and Grandmawmaw love seeing all the pictures. You all look great! We can't wait to see our little boy. I wonder if he will have dimples? We're so glad that we get to share these last days before Mitchell is born with you.

Talleyman,
Congrats to the whole family. You all look fantastic. Sorry about the premature balding thing though, that sucks! :)
The whole blog thing is totally cool (from one geek-moe-dee to another) and I'm intensely jealous that I didn't think of it first! Great idea - I love to be able to pop in and see how all of you are and how Mitchell and big sis Kam are doing.
Although its been years since I've heard the sound of your voice, I can actually hear it as I read your entries. It cracks me up.....your sense of humor is still a hoot. You must keep the family very entertained.
Again, much congrats. Your family is beautiful. God bless.

Hey! When your page first came up, I thought I was looking at Leigh when she was a little girl! However, I did notice that the picture was of your daughter. Wow! What a resemblance! Congratulations on the new little one too! Miss you, Leigh. Love, Melanie Schauwecker
